Louk Boudesteijn

Louk is one of the founding members of the orchestra, and one of its artistic directors. Louk Graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatory in 2002. In 2001 he won the Erasmus jazzprize and played in Carnegie Hall, NY with his BandW Quintet. Together with his lifelong musical companion Rob van de Wouw Louk has been initiating all kinds of musical projects like the BandW quintet and since 2004 the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra (playing with the likes of Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Frank Lacy, Jason Lindner, Frank Moebus, Nicolas Payton, Mark de Clive Lowe, Benjamin Herman, Eric Vloeimans and so on).Together with fellow horn players Jan van Duikeren and Guido Nijs he forms The Special Request Horns, playing with Dutch pop/reggae stars BEEF! ,all kinds of projects/studiorecordings and releasing their own funk/jazz album Volume 1. Besides this Louk is also a much sought after sideman playing /touring with amongst others: Paul van Kemenade Quintet, Panchito, Nueva Manteca, Paul Weller, Caito Marcondes, Metropole Orchestra, Martin Fondse, Candy Dulfer, Daughters of soul, Anouk, Beef, NDR bigband , Big Bizar Habit, Waterland Sextet, Pierre Courbois, liquid spririts and Leon Ware, WDR bigband, Leona, Jenny Lane, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Gare du Nord, Natalia, Claudia de Breij, TV show 2007-08, Dutch chart-breaking singer Caro Emerald and so on.
