Nils van Haften

As a multiple reed player (soprano, tenor and baritone saxophone; clarinet and bass clarinet and flute) recorded over 30 cds, and performed in small groups and larger ensembles like The Bob Brookmeyer New Art Orchestra, The Dutch Jazz Orchestra, The Metropole Orchestra, The Frankfurt Radio Bigband and The New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra.
Conductor – Nils is conductor of The Dutch Jazz Collective, West Coast Big Band and Bigband Blast. As a conducer Nils won first prizes with the West Coast Big Band and Bigband Blast at the International Big Band Competition in The Netherlands in 2016, 2017 and 2022.
Educator – Nils is teaching at Codarts, at the saxophone faculty, at the music education department and as an ensemble coach.
